This smoothie recipe serves four people and is packed with iron-rich ingredients that help combat blood deficiency while promoting healthy, glowing skin.
Start by grating the peeled beetroot and set it aside. In a separate pan, mix 4 tablespoons of ragi powder with 2 cups of water, stirring well to avoid lumps. Add 1 tablespoon of palm candy for sweetness โ those with sugar concerns or who prefer less sweetness can skip this. Add the grated beetroot and cook the mixture on a medium flame until it thickens. Once done, set it aside to cool.
In a mixer jar, add the banana, grapes, and deseeded dates. Blend them well. If using nuts, grind them first before adding the fruits for better mixing. Add the cooled beetroot-ragi mixture and blend again. If the mixture is too thick, add a little milk to assist blending. Finally, add 2 cups of milk (or 1 cup milk + 1 cup water for a lighter version) and blend until smooth.
Pour into glasses and top with crushed almonds for a delightful crunch.
