Ramesh Pisharadi, the popular actor and entertainer, has officially transitioned into full-time politics as the newly elected MLA of Palakkad. Taking over from former MLA Rahul Mankootham, Pisharadi has announced an ambitious development agenda aimed at transforming Palakkad into an international-standard city.
In a decisive move, Pisharadi has stated that he will completely step away from cinema and stage shows to dedicate himself entirely to public service. His office in Palakkad town will begin operations shortly, marking the start of his tenure.
Pisharadi’s key focus areas include healthcare, education, and agriculture. He has pledged to equip the Palakkad Government Medical College with all modern facilities and expedite the construction of the district hospital. On the agricultural front, resolving the long-standing paddy procurement issue is a top priority, with plans to allocate a special budget allocation for the same.
The Kochi-Bangalore industrial corridor is expected to be a game-changer for Palakkad, and Pisharadi aims to leverage this to position the city as a major hub. New bypass roads will be prioritized to address the city’s severe traffic congestion.
For the youth, Pisharadi has promised robust support for startups, ensuring that lack of capital does not hinder innovative business ideas. He also plans to build affordable auditoriums in local bodies for ordinary citizens to hold celebrations.
Former MLA Rahul Mankootham’s contributions, including the KSRTC AC bus service to Bangalore and significant infrastructure funding, were acknowledged by Pisharadi, who intends to build upon this foundation.
