Ramesh Pisharady Takes Over as Palakkad MLA with Ambitious Development Plans

Ramesh Pisharady, who transitioned from a successful career in cinema and stage performances to full-time politics, has officially begun his tenure as the newly elected MLA of Palakkad. He has announced a comprehensive development master plan aimed at transforming Palakkad into a metropolitan city, building upon the foundational work laid by his predecessor Rahul Mankoottam.

Pisharady has decided to completely set aside film and stage programs during his tenure to ensure 100% service to the people. The MLA office in Palakkad town will commence operations shortly. He noted that having two ministers from the district will be a significant advantage for Palakkad, and the support from Minister K.A. Thulasi gives him great confidence.

His primary focus areas are health, education, and agriculture. The Palakkad Government Medical College will be equipped with all modern facilities, and the construction of the district hospital will be completed at the earliest. On the agriculture front, he promised a concrete resolution to the paddy procurement issue, which was the most common complaint from farmers during the election campaign. He will push for a special allocation in the budget for paddy procurement.

The long-term vision includes transforming Palakkad into an international-standard city hub. With the Kochi-Bangalore industrial corridor becoming a reality, Palakkad’s landscape is set to change dramatically. New bypass roads will be constructed to alleviate the severe traffic congestion in the city. The urban planning strategy aims to develop both rural and urban areas equally.

For the youth, Pisharady assured that no business idea should fail due to lack of funds. He will take the initiative to bring in substantial capital for startups through government funding and private channels. Additionally, low-cost auditoriums will be built in all local self-government institutions for celebrations by ordinary citizens.

One of the notable achievements of former MLA Rahul Mankoottam was launching the first direct KSRTC AC bus service from Palakkad to Bangalore. Pisharady aims to build on such infrastructure developments and take Palakkad to greater heights. He has already announced that the Palakkad Government Medical College will be fully equipped with advanced facilities and the district hospital construction will be expedited.
