In a fiery address in the Kerala Legislative Assembly, Congress leader Ramya Haridas launched a scathing attack on former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, using a powerful ship metaphor to criticize his previous administration’s failures. Quoting the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, she warned that any vessel where mistakes go uncorrected and wrongdoers are left unchecked is bound to sink.
Haridas compared the previous Left Democratic Front (LDF) government to a sinking ship whose captain was busy enjoying “Mega Thiruvathira” celebrations while the citizens wept. She recalled how the leadership dismissed public concerns with arrogant remarks like “Kadakku Purathu” (Get out) and defended the destructive actions of its crew as rescue operations, ultimately leading to their political downfall.
Contrasting the past with the present, she declared that the new United Democratic Front (UDF) administration is not a ship controlled by a single arrogant captain, but a marvelous train with 102 bogies. She emphasized that this government operates with collective responsibility—involving station masters, guards, and technicians—and will prioritize the safety, feedback, and needs of its passengers, who are the people of Kerala.
