Retired Station Master Pushed Off Train by Arrogant TTE Teaches a Lesson in Humanity

A 65-year-old retired Indian Railways station master, Shivnarayan Prasad, was physically assaulted and pushed off an AC coach by an arrogant Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) during the festive Diwali rush. Prasad, who had served the railways faithfully for 35 years, had boarded the AC coach of the Chapra Superfast Express in desperation after being unable to enter his designated sleeper compartment due to extreme overcrowding. Despite holding a confirmed ticket and offering to pay the required fine, he was brutally insulted and thrown onto the platform at Prayagraj by the TTE, identified as Vinay.

The situation escalated rapidly when Prasad contacted the railway control room to report the incident. Upon realizing his identity as a highly respected former station master of Chapra Junction, senior officials, including Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Ashok Kumar—who had actually been trained by Prasad early in his career—ordered immediate action. RPF personnel and station authorities rushed to Prasad’s aid, and the TTE was arrested at the very next station, facing immediate suspension and potential dismissal as video footage of the cruelty recorded by other passengers went viral.

In an extraordinary display of grace and maturity, Prasad intervened to save the TTE’s livelihood. When the disgraced TTE fell at his feet begging for mercy to protect his family, Prasad requested the DRM not to terminate his employment. Instead, he recommended that the TTE be suspended and sent for mandatory training focused on empathy and how to treat passengers, especially the elderly, with dignity. After receiving first aid, Prasad declined luxury travel arrangements and chose to complete his journey in a regular compartment, successfully reuniting with his grandson for Diwali.
