Sharjah Police Investigate Neighbors’ Children Over Death of Pakistani Toddler

Sharjah Police have launched an investigation into two young girls from neighboring families following the tragic death of a three-year-old Pakistani boy who fell from the third floor of a residential building. Initially suspected to be an accidental fall, CCTV footage has prompted authorities to investigate whether the child, Muhammad Arjaman, was intentionally thrown from the staircase window. The suspect girls, aged around ten, belong to neighboring Malayali and Tamil families, whose parents have also been taken into police custody.

According to the investigation, the incident occurred while the child was playing in the corridor outside his apartment, during a brief moment when his mother stepped inside for less than a minute. CCTV footage reportedly shows one of the girls opening the staircase door and gesturing to the boy to come inside. Shortly after the door closed, the toddler fell approximately 14 meters to the ground. The footage further reveals the girls walking away calmly after the incident.

The victim’s father, Sajjad Hussain, expressed his profound grief, noting that the child was born after five years of marriage. The family has since returned to Pakistan, with Hussain urging parents to remain highly vigilant about their children’s safety. The Sharjah Police have transferred the case to the Child Protection Authority as they continue to interrogate the suspects to uncover the motive behind this shocking act.
