The newly elected UDF government in Kerala is planning to implement a new high-speed rail project as an alternative to the Silver Line project proposed by the previous LDF government. Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan will meet ‘Metroman’ E. Sreedharan this evening to discuss the alternative corridor.
The meeting, scheduled for this evening in Thiruvananthapuram, is expected to focus on the alternative alignment previously suggested by Sreedharan. The proposed high-speed rail line aims to connect the northern and southern ends of Kerala, replacing the Silver Line project that was a flagship initiative of the previous administration.
