Suresh Gopi Gifts Auto-Rickshaw to Woman Denied Mudra Loan

Union Minister of State Suresh Gopi has gifted an auto-rickshaw to a woman who was denied a Mudra loan under a self-employment scheme. The beneficiary, Ganga Rishikesan, a resident of Bison Valley Muttukad, had approached the minister during a public meeting in Moolamattom on September 30, 2025, after traveling over 130 kilometers on her scooter.

Ganga, who has supported her family for over two decades by working as a daily wage laborer in cardamom plantations, applied for a Mudra loan at a nationalized bank seven years ago. The bank officials falsely claimed that no such scheme existed. Her husband, a former bus driver, has been unable to work for 13 years due to lifestyle diseases, worsening their financial struggles.

During the meeting, Ganga shared her plight with Suresh Gopi, who immediately promised to buy her an auto-rickshaw. Recently, the minister’s personal assistant called Ganga, informing her that the payment had been made to the company and she could collect the vehicle from a showroom in Adimali. The auto-rickshaw arrived at her home as construction of her house under the Life scheme was underway. Ganga expressed her gratitude to the minister via a video call and hopes to start driving the auto-rickshaw from the next day.
