Tripunithura Tea Vendor Shaji Wins Hearts by Offering His Dhoti to Accident Victim

In a heart-touching act of humanity, a local tea vendor named M.R. Shaji from Tripunithura, Kerala, has won widespread praise for helping a woman injured in a road accident. When a private bus hit the woman at Statue Junction and dragged her along the road, her clothes were completely torn, leaving her in extreme pain and distress. Shaji, who was passing by, immediately removed his own dhoti (mundu) and gave it to her to protect her dignity while others stood as mere onlookers.

The incident occurred during the afternoon when Shaji was on his daily routine of delivering tea to local shops on his bicycle. A private bus knocked down the woman and dragged her for several meters. While she miraculously survived the impact, the friction against the road left her severely injured and her clothing torn. As a crowd gathered but remained frozen in shock, Shaji quickly assessed the situation and prioritized protecting the woman’s dignity alongside saving her life.

After handing over his dhoti to the injured woman, Shaji bought another one for himself from a nearby shop. The severely injured woman was then immediately rushed to a private hospital in Ernakulam for medical treatment. Shaji’s selfless and prompt action has been widely hailed as an inspiring example of compassion in a modern society that often remains passive during road accidents.
