Bride Rejects Groom at Wedding Venue Claiming He Is Not Her Online Lover, Brawl Erupts in UP

A wedding in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, turned into a massive brawl after the bride refused to marry the groom upon his arrival at the venue, claiming he was not the man she had been interacting with online. The bride, an advocate named Priya, asserted that the groom who arrived, 23-year-old Devendra Singh Parihar, was not the person she had fallen in love with on Instagram.

According to the bride, she believed she had been communicating with a man named Rahul Mishra, who allegedly claimed to be an army officer serving in Pulwama. However, the groom, who traveled from Madhya Pradesh, maintained that he and Priya had been in a relationship for four months and that he had arrived with his relatives to marry her with prior family consent.

The disagreement quickly escalated into a violent physical clash between the two families at the wedding venue. Around 13 people, including the groom Devendra Singh, sustained injuries in the fight, and the groom was subsequently hospitalized. Following a complaint filed by the bride, the police registered a case and arrested nine individuals involved in the altercation.
