A newlywed woman from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, has sought divorce after her husband invited his entire family to join them on their honeymoon to Nainital. The couple, who met through a matrimonial website and married with family consent, had planned a private getaway, but the husband’s decision to include his parents and siblings turned the trip into a family vacation, sparking intense conflict.
Despite counseling sessions, the husband maintained he did nothing wrong, stating he wanted everyone to be happy. The wife expressed that the family’s presence prevented them from spending quality time as a couple. The situation worsened when the husband proposed repeating the same arrangement for a planned Dubai trip, leading to further disputes.
The case escalated to a police station and was referred to a family counseling center. After three rounds of counseling, where both parties made serious allegations and refused to compromise, the couple decided to separate, concluding that reconciliation was impossible.
