A 27-year-old nurse, Ashwati, who was hospitalized after consuming poison at her rented room in Kasaragod, died late last night. She had married Rupesh, a close relative, just a month ago against the wishes of both families.

Police have registered a case of unnatural death and recorded Ashwati’s dying declaration, which contains crucial details. However, they have not disclosed the contents pending the post-mortem report. Investigators are probing whether harassment from either her own family or her husband’s family drove her to the extreme step.
