Popular Malayalam actor Salim Kumar has recently been the subject of intense social media rumors claiming he was admitted to a private hospital and placed on ventilator support. However, reports clarify that the actor’s current health status is stable, debunking the alarming claims circulating online.
Salim Kumar has previously battled severe liver disease and underwent a successful liver transplant. Addressing past misconceptions, the actor had clarified that his liver cirrhosis was a hereditary condition and not caused by alcohol consumption, noting that his brother, who did not even drink tea, suffered from the same ailment. His altered physical appearance and lifestyle changes are a result of this major surgery, and he is currently not facing the critical health issues reported on social media.
Starting his career through mimicry, Salim Kumar established himself as one of Malayalam cinema’s finest comedians before proving his versatility in serious roles, such as in Lal Jose’s ‘Achanurangatha Veedu’. He won the Kerala State Film Award and the prestigious National Film Award for Best Actor in 2010. While he has taken a step back from active acting recently, his son Chandhu is now active in the film industry.
