Renu Sudhi Opens Up About Late Stage Cancer Diagnosis and Airport Customs Ordeal
Renu Sudhi, the wife of the late Malayalam actor and comedian Sudhi, has publicly revealed her diagnosis of late third-stage breast cancer, which has spread to her heart muscles and lungs due to delayed medical attention. Sharing her health update on her YouTube channel, Renu confirmed that she has commenced chemotherapy. Before starting the treatment, she underwent various medical evaluations, including cardiac fitness tests, and expressed her determination to fight the disease with a positive mindset.
Despite her severe health challenges, Renu remains committed to staying positive and serving as an inspiration to other cancer patients. She has decided to take a temporary break from acting, promotional events, and inaugurations to focus entirely on her treatment. She mentioned that she was recently offered a good role in a film and hopes to return to acting once she recovers. Amidst her ongoing treatment, she reconciled with Bishop Noble Philip Ambalavayal, who had previously gifted her land for a house. After she apologized for past public disputes, the Bishop visited her home and prayed for her recovery, which she described as a major blessing. Meanwhile, she noted that Sudhi’s eldest son, Kichu, has not contacted her yet, though she remains hopeful that he might visit her after learning about her illness.
In her video, Renu also recounted a distressing three-hour ordeal at the airport upon her return from Bahrain. Based on a false smuggling tip, customs officials subjected her to a rigorous search. Due to her extremely weak physical state and the officials’ insistence on taking an X-ray, she was forced to disclose her cancer diagnosis to them. Finding nothing illegal, the officials eventually let her go after offering her water. Renu clarified that she has never engaged in any illegal activities and only traveled abroad for small promotional works to earn a living, especially since finding funds for her cancer treatment is now her biggest hurdle.
